Further help for Calder Food Support.

The Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge is delighted to announce our continued support for Calder Food Support, a vital local charity addressing food insecurity in our community. We will be providing another £1,200 in funding over the next six months, distributed as monthly instalments of £200.

Calder Food Support, registered charity number 1204752, aims to alleviate the impact of the cost of living crisis by providing food bags at local hubs. These hubs are strategically located to be more accessible to those who, due to financial or health reasons, find it difficult to travel to larger food banks.

Calder Food Support primarily serves residents of Hebden Royd and Luddenden who are facing financial hardships, particularly those struggling to meet household expenses and afford adequate nutrition. In the last financial year, the charity's total expenditure reached £21,337, with the majority (£20,397.67) allocated to food costs. Additional expenses included £539.70 for premises, £287.88 for subscriptions, and £112.00 for insurance. To sustain their vital work, Calder Food Support actively seeks funding from various sources. They have successfully secured £250 from the Calder Ward Forum, £25 from Luddenden Ward Forum and are awaiting an important decision on an application for £5,000 from Hebden Royd Town Council. Additionally, their ongoing Local Giving campaign has raised approximately £9,000, demonstrating strong community support for their mission.

Can you help too?  It would be much appreciated.  Go to their Local Giving page at: https://localgiving.org/charity/calder-food-support/
