A Forest School for Heptonstall!

"I got to hold a spider at forest school. It doesn't bite he just has long legs, which he used to run around my hands, tickling me.”

“This Friday we are having our first fire at forest school, it's so exciting, I can't wait"

The Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge is thrilled to announce a £600 donation to the Parents and Friends of Heptonstall School (PFA) to help establish a Forest School at Heptonstall Junior and Infant School!

A parent said “My child has become so much more excited about nature, she is telling me interesting facts about insects and plants that I didn't know before! She really enjoys going to school on forest school days and races to get into her forest school clothes.”

The Forest School will offer a term of outdoor, play-based learning for each class, giving children a fantastic opportunity to learn in nature and develop skills such as confidence and creativity. This initiative will provide lasting benefits for the students and future generations.  See more at:  Oak Apples Forest Schools

With shrinking school budgets, the PFA’s fundraising efforts are more important than ever. They aim to raise £4,500 to cover the first year of this amazing program, and we’re proud to support such an impactful cause!

If you'd like to learn more or get involved, stay tuned to their webpage at Heptonstall School PFA for upcoming fundraisers and check out their GoFundMe page at: HELP HEPTONSTALL SCHOOL DEVELOP AN ON-SITE FOREST SCHOOL

We are glad to play a part in making this project a reality for the children of Heptonstall.
