Congratulations Bhawna!
Congratulations, Rotary Peace Fellow Bhawna Solanki, for not only completing your Rotary sponsored Masters degree, but also being awarded a distinction! Our Club hosted Bhawna during her time in the UK. We are so proud of her achievements!
Our Club supports the Rotary Peace Fellowship programme. Each year, Rotary International awards fully funded fellowships for dedicated future leaders from around the world. The programme develops the capacity of peace and development professionals to become effective catalysts for peace, as they progress through their careers. Rotary sponsored students at the University of Bradford (the world’s largest university research centre for the study of peace and conflict) form part of a global cohort of high-flyers from all backgrounds, each studying for a Master’s degree related to international peace-building, reconciliation, development and sustainability. Others study at one of the other four Rotary Peace Centres around the world. For many of them, the programme would be out of reach without the financial support of Rotary International, which pays all tuition fees, international travel and provides a grant to cover the cost of accommodation and living expenses.

Members of The Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge provide support by acting as host counsellors for some of the individual students. We are now looking forward to the arrival next month of Yousra, from Jordan, another exceptional young person who will join the class of 2024.
If you know of a local person who might like our Club to sponsor an application to the programme, please show them the following link and ask them to contact us.
